Entre os v\u00e1rios crit\u00e9rios utilizados para avaliar o desempenho de um material isolante, dois par\u00e2metros s\u00e3o fundamentais: o coeficiente de condutividade t\u00e9rmica, frequentemente designado por coeficiente lambda (\u03bb), e a resist\u00eancia t\u00e9rmica, conhecida por valor R.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-coefficient-lambda-\u03bb\">Coeficiente lambda (\u03bb)<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>O coeficiente lambda (\u03bb) \u00e9 uma medida da capacidade de um material conduzir calor. \u00c9 expresso em watts por metro por kelvin (W\/m-K). Este coeficiente reflecte a efici\u00eancia com que o calor \u00e9 transmitido atrav\u00e9s de um material: quanto mais baixo for o coeficiente lambda, melhor \u00e9 o isolamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para compreender este fen\u00f3meno, imagine que dois materiais diferentes s\u00e3o expostos a uma diferen\u00e7a de temperatura. Se o material A tiver um coeficiente lambda de 0,035 W\/m-K e o material B tiver um coeficiente de 0,040 W\/m-K, o material A ser\u00e1 mais eficaz a limitar a passagem de calor, porque oferece maior resist\u00eancia \u00e0 condu\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9rmica.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-valeur-r\">O R<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>O valor R de um material isolante mede a sua resist\u00eancia t\u00e9rmica. \u00c9 calculado em fun\u00e7\u00e3o da espessura do material e do seu coeficiente lambda. A f\u00f3rmula para calcular a resist\u00eancia t\u00e9rmica R \u00e9 a seguinte:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud835\udc45 = \ud835\udc52 \/ <em>\u03bb<\/em>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>onde <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud835\udc52 \u00e9 a espessura do material em metros (m) e <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud835\udf06 \u00e9 o coeficiente de condutividade t\u00e9rmica em W\/m-K. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>O valor R \u00e9 expresso em metros quadrados de Kelvin por watt (m\u00b2K\/W). Quanto mais elevado for o valor R, melhor \u00e9 o isolamento, pois significa que o material oferece uma grande resist\u00eancia \u00e0 passagem do calor.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-valeur-uc\">A Uc<\/h4>\n\n\n<p>A Unidade de Condu\u00e7\u00e3o (Uc) \u00e9 utilizada para avaliar o desempenho global de isolamento de um conjunto de materiais, tendo em conta a condutividade t\u00e9rmica, a espessura e outros factores que influenciam a transfer\u00eancia de calor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O coeficiente Uc \u00e9 o inverso de R.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U = \u03bb \/ \ud835\udc52 = 1 \/ \ud835\udc45<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>onde <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud835\udc52 \u00e9 a espessura do material em metros (m) e<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud835\udf06 \u00e9 o coeficiente de condutividade t\u00e9rmica em W\/m-K. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>O valor Uc \u00e9 expresso em watts por metro quadrado kelvin (W\/m\u00b2K).
